waterlogue iphone and ipad app

Waterlogue copy 4

waterlogue is a nice little photo app. You can transform your photos into luminous watercolors. There are 12 styles to play with. You need IOS7 on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. And it is $2.99 in the Apple Store.

I like apps like this when I have a lackluster photo. This allows me to add some interest when I don't have much to work with. Have fun.

Or add some copy to the cutest baby picture ever.

So easy to use. I just used my finger to write most of these. When I tried a stylus I had better control. Easy, fun and a good addition to my app library.

brighton hipstapak lens and film for your iphone

IMG_1933new lens and film from Hipstamatic. This lens and film caught my eye because I take a lot of water shots. I have noticed that to get the above shot the water has to be deep blue. It also helped that the water had a nice sparkle to it that day. Hipstamatic is a camera app for your iPhone. It has many, many different lens and films for you to play with. Use as suggested or mix and match.

The Doris lens gives you sunny saturation and contrast for your beach shots. Sussex film adds grit, warmth and those slightly burnt edges to your photos.

And all this Summer fun for only 99 cents. Who can beat that.

Here are 4 fun camera apps for the iPhone. I use them all. I like adding different effects to photos. This one is XnSketch. I think I've blogged about it before.

This one is Vintique. One of may possible filters. All of these little apps have many, many filters. Lots of ways to spend time while in the car.

ClassicINSTA

Here is ClassicINSTA. I like using the same photo in many apps to see what I get. Some photos work better in some apps than others.

two things I've been stuck on. Paul at the Apple store helped me but I thought I would share here in case you are having the same issues.

1. At some point in time I changed the alarm on my phone to the obnoxious, wheezing, old car sound. Not a pleasant way to wake up from a nap. Then I forgot how I did it. Here is how you change it... http://www.wikihow.com/Set-an-Alarm-on-an-iPhone-Clock

2. Since I am texting more I am more irritated by the tiny type I can't read without my glasses. Here is how to change that... http://www.wikihow.com/Change-The-Font-Size-on-an-iPhone  Unfortunately it goes from the too small type to 20 point which is bigger than I would like. I'd probably like 16 point but it does not appear to be an option.

I was quite pleased to have stumbled upon www.wikihow.com. A new resource for all those things I think about in the middle of the night.

new keyboard and stylus and procreate

IMG_1834

two new accessories for my iPad! And good ones. My goal is not to turn on my work computer on the weekends. So I got this very nice bluetooth keyboard for my iPad so I can do email. Also got this new fat nib stylus because I want to try and draw my next font using my iPad.

IMG_1833

The Logitech keyboard has no cords and synced easily, always a bonus. The Just Mobile stylus has a nice fat, bold stroke when used in Procreate. (Still like my bamboo stylus too.)

IMG_1831

The carrying case for the keyboard flips into a stand for the iPad. I can use the iPad either vertically or horizontally, always a bonus.

I would not even consider trying to make a font on the iPad except for Procreate. Whether I can do it still remains to be seen. I want to make a marker alphabet font with rough edges. That is hard to do by hand because I need to use half used markers which will not last through a whole font. I will probably have to create my own brush which is fine. Procreate does comes with 48 brushes and there are 72 additional brush sets. It is $4.99 and each brush set is just 99 cents in the Apple Store. Now that my website is updated this is my next project. Hope this works as this font has been in my head for several years now.

If you are interested in any of the other tools for your iPad links are below. Have fun!
