Nora's Comfort Shawl Pattern

As you know I love to knit. For me it can be meditative. When I get stuck during my work day I knit a little until the creative problem works it self out in my head. But I generally don't like the things that most people knit. I don't like knitted lace things. And oddly I really like the little ridges of garter stitch. So this pattern was made for me as it was all garter stitch. I knit it exactly like the pattern and even used the correct yarn.

I used 2 different colors of variegated yarns both  DROPS Delight. A nice soft, warm yarn. This yarn is only sold in some yarn shops here in the US. If you want some go to www.yellowdogknitting.com. Tell Dixie Rae sent you, she will send you what you need. This is the first shawl I have ever knit. I've been knitting lots and lots and lots of socks and half mitts. My neck is always cold in Winter as I work and this lovely little layer of wool warmth is perfect.

In fact it is so perfect that I immediately started a second shawl from some birthday yarn I had in my stash. This is local Wisconsin alpaca yarn from yes Argyle, Wisconsin. How perfect is that? This yarn is not dyed it is the color of the alpacas. The brown is from Dark Princess and the gray from Spatz. Both these little shawls will not only keep me warm but be a nice addition to my slovenly casual work from home attire.
