What I've been working on . . .
/It has been a busy couple weeks at Outside the Line. Wilderness Doodles is done and in the Top 50 Fonts on myfonts.com, which is very exciting. I try to take a break after a font and do other creative things. Here is what I have been up to.
Jack and Ella got a new logo! That was a fun project in part because Jessica and I work so well together. I am kind of thinking this needs to be my next script font. Always fun when things happen like that.
I entered the Lilla Rogers 2016 Global Talent Search. Assignment #1 was to design a teacup, saucer and a paper napkin. This was my entry and I am pleased with it. It is my first time doing surface design. Alas, I did not make the cut to get Assignment #2. The group was narrowed down from 1000 to 50. After seeing those chosen it was obvious that my style was not what they are looking for. I am good with that. Pretty much in life I march to a different drummer. Still glad I entered.
I like found objects. Here is a very rough start to a little group of small junque robots. Betty, in the red skirt, tells me they want dancing legs. So off to the hardware store this weekend. But who knows, she could change her mind.
After I completely clean my office I will get to start creating some linen tea towel fabric that will be sold on Spoonflower. These will be based on the new Wilderness Doodles font. Really looking forward to that. There will be 4 designs on one yard of fabric. You buy the yard and stitch up the 4 tea towels. I see them as a perfect hostess gift when invited to someone's lake house.
That is what I am up to. What fun creative things are you doing?
