Yes the holidays are right around the corner, especially for us who design things for the holidays. In fact this weekend the Miata goes in storage. Sigh. Then for me it IS Winter. The new font this month is this year's new holiday and Winter font Yuletide Doodles!

And this month's FREE font is Holiday Doodles. It encompasses holidays though out the year... with 7 Christmas and 2 Thanksgiving icons. Use the Download Link on the right to get this font. Both fonts are great for making a holiday invitation, gift tags, place cards for your holiday dinner. Lots to work with here.

And we are hard at work on Just Animals... some non-holiday cuteness. Also in the works for 2011 will be a yoga stick figure font and lots of new alphabet fonts and maybe some cats & dogs...

I know it seems really early for Christmas art but it really isn't. This is the 2010 holiday font.

Yuletide Doodles has 31 pieces of picture art for holiday or Winter use. This font has a lot of reverse art. If you want something a little lighter and more sketchy check out Christmas Doodles or Christmas Doodles Too. Those would mix in nicely with this font.

font friday... brushes? clip art anyone?

Photoshop Brushes? Color clip art for Illustrator? I am thinking about making my best-selling doodle fonts into Photoshop brushes or color eps or jpgs. Any thoughts from anyone on this? Any interest? You would need Photoshop to use the brushes. If you have any interest plz leave a comment. If I did this my first font would be Frames & Borders ... Thanks!!

font friday... house doodles font...

We live in a neighborhood of charming little homes. I decided those cute houses should live on in a picture font so here is House Doodles. These have a lot of detail in them so you need to use most of them at a larger size as a piece of clip art. Some of the simpler ones can be used at a smaller size. And this was the song running thru my head in my early mornings when I was walking the neighborhood with my camera... but in my neighborhood the houses and the people are not all just the same.

font friday... 2011 typodarium calendar...

I am thrilled to be holding the 2011 Typodarium in my hot little hands. It is a font page-a-day calendar. And 4 of my fonts are in it! I love fonts and page-a-day calendars so I am a very happy camper.

Typodarium 2011 is the daily typography dose. A tear-off calendar, just like the one our grandma used to hang in the kitchen. But this calendar unveils a new font everyday. We can therefore have, a whole year long, the chance to broaden our knowledge, to discover the font's history and developement. On the front, the font will be prominently displayed, and on the back it will be described in detail.

Like in 2009 and 2010 Typodarium 2011 is published by Verlag Hermann Schmidt Mainz (over 10.000 copies, coming along in design- and museum shops and selected bookstores around the world).
